Overview
Buttondown lets you connect your Twitter account to your newsletter. This lets you automatically share your newsletters as tweets. This integration relies on Buttondown's automations feature.
Setting up your Twitter integration
To get started,
- Navigate to Settings, and then the Integrations and find the Twitter integration option.
- Click Connect. A new tab opens, prompting you to log in to your Twitter account.
- Click Authorize app to authorize Buttondown to tweet on your behalf.
After you connect your Twitter account to Buttondown, a confirmation message appears on the Integrations page.
Sharing your newsletters to Twitter
To share your newsletters to Twitter, you can create an automation that posts your newsletters to Twitter whenever you send them. To do this, create a new Automation, or just click the Automation banner below:
The simplest and most common use case is to create an automation that posts your newsletters to Twitter whenever you send them. Here's how:
- Navigate to the Automations page and click New. The "New automation" panel opens.
- (Optional) Give your automation a human-readable "Name."
- Set the Trigger to when an email is sent.
- Set the Action to Create a Twitter post.
- (Optional) Configure any other fields to customize the automation. If you leave these fields blank, the automation will post to your Twitter account as soon as you send a new newsletter email.
- Click Save changes.
To enable the new automation, either click Unpause in the automation panel, or click to enable the automation's toggle in the Automations page.
