Advertising units describe a sponsorship offering you sell to sponsors — the price, the format, the content rules, and the dates that are available. Each unit owns a set of advertising slots, one per date.
What a unit defines
- title, description, behavior — what the sponsorship is and how it's displayed
- price — the cost in cents that a sponsor pays per slot
- allows_html, allows_image, max_characters — the content rules sponsors have to follow when submitting
- submission_deadline_days — how many days before a slot's date the sponsor must submit their content
- status —

Units and slots
Creating or updating a unit's dates field automatically creates or removes the corresponding slots. Slots are where sponsor content lives and where the booking, content submission, and approval workflow happens.
